Your president felt really pleased and proud that so many of our members entered the speech contests. Nagging sometimes works? Apart from our 4 judges, we had two other visitors, Sarah’s partner Matt, and Maria Ayala, originally from Spain, who was so impressed that she joined at the end of the evening. Welcome Maria. Is Matt tempted too – if I promise to get his name right? Helen chaired the two contests and prefaced the Humorous with a joke concerning lettuce, prostitutes and rugby.
The contestants in the Humorous Contest and their speech titles were:
Adrienne - Hard to Swallow
Mark - Unseen Ramifications of 20 years Service in the Army and Paratroopers
Michael - Threesome in Sicily
Josh - A Changed Man
David Cr - It’s All Gone Bananas
Congratulations to all 8 contestants in the Table Topics Contest: Mark, Simon, Lloyd, Wendy, Michelle, Nicola, Penny and David Cr.
